We, the organizing committee take immense pleasure in welcoming you all for the 11th National PG Convention at the peaceful and serene city of Puducherry. The Organizing team from Department of Public Health Dentistry in association with IAPHD Tamil Nadu chapter is striving hard to make this PG convention a fulfilling scientific experience. The theme of this convention is “Oral Health Programs -Reaching the Unreached”. It aims to bring out innovative ideas from budding specialists for the betterment of the underserved population. Innovation is the need of the hour which is the pinnacle of all research. The students who are showcasing their scientific skills/ knowledge should aim to focus on newer original concepts and techniques in the field of public health by imbibing global concepts for local needs. Oral Health Education Aid Competition


    E-POSTER

    The posters can either be theme based or non-theme based.
    Theme Based - Oral Health Programs -Reaching the Unreached
    The students can choose the non theme posters based on the subcategories as follows:

    Non-theme based topics:

    1. Recent advances in public health dentistry
    2. Oral Epidemiology
    3. Oral health in general health
    4. Preventive dentistry

    • Maximum of 2 participants (Excluding guides), both the participants has to register.
    • The scheduling of poster presentation will be based on first come first serve basis on abstract submission.
    • As it will be a e– poster , the delegates are supposed the carry the soft copy of the poster in a pen drive.
    • Each delegate needs to get their poster uploaded in their respective halls for presentation, at the beginning of each session.
    • The prescribed dimension for scientific poster presentation is 3 ft x 4 ft (portrait format which is 3 feet wide and 4 feet height) in JPEG format only.
    • Identity of the presenter should not be mentioned on the poster (including the name of the guide, the name of the institution and place).
    • Any potential conflict of interest must be disclosed by the researchers
    • External sources of funding, if any, should be included in the presentation
    • The presenting author should be present at his / her poster display area during the entire session to clear scientific queries and / or facilitate any exchange of ideas regarding the scientific work being displayed.
    • He /She will be given 2 minutes to explain the poster, if required by the judges.
    • If the presenting author is not present near his/her scientific poster display area, his/her presentation will not be considered for evaluation by the judges.
    • Certificate of presentation will be issued only to the presenter.
    • Each session will have 2 best posters one in the theme based and the other in non theme based category.
    • The Decision of the scientific committee shall be final.

FORMAT FOR ABSTRACT PREPARATION

  • Authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines.
  • Language: English
  • Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12
  • Abstract text word limit: 300 words (Exclusive of names and affiliation details).
  • Single line spacing should be maintained throughout the abstract.
  • Title should be in sentence case and it should be short and precise with not more than 15 words.
  • The authors name should be written in bold according to the stated format [First Name Middle Name Last name].
  • The affiliation details of all authors (including designation, department, institution/hospital, city/town and state) should be mentioned in order.

TABLE CLINICS

WHAT IS A TABLE CLINIC?

A Table Clinic is a table top presentation using oral communication, models and visual media to inform, clarify, and/or review material on a specific topic.

A Table Clinic presents useful and timely information in an original, interesting manner. This information may be a technique, theory, service, trend or expanded opportunity in the practice of dentistry and/or the broader realm of oral and systemic health. Your Table Clinic should be focused, clear and concise to provide information quickly and stimulate attention and interest.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR TABLE CLINIC:

  • Maximum of four presenters (Excluding guides) are allowed for each clinic.
  • Presentations must not exceed ten minutes. A two minute discussion will follow after concluding the presentation.
  • Delegates must bring all their presentation display equipment. Only one electrical outlet will be provided at each outlet. AV equipment like laptops should be brought by the presenters.
  • Trade names of products/instruments are not allowed to be identified.
  • Charts, diagrams and display materials must be limited to the table top and their height.
  • The Decision of the scientific committee shall be final.

ORAL HEALTH EDUCATION AID COMPETITION

  • Oral Health education is any combination of learning experiences designed to help individuals and communities improve their health, by increasing their knowledge or influencing their attitudes.
  • The scope of this competition is to prepare effective oral health education aids for patient awareness to increase control over and improve their health.
    The aids can be
  1. Visual aids like models, posters, equipments, flipcharts etc.
  2. Audio-visual aids like videos, short films etc.
  • Each team can have a maximum of four presenters (Excluding guides).
  • All the models, equipments and display materials should be carried by the presenters.
  • The AV aid presenters will be provided with a projector or appropriate projecting aid.
  • The duration can be a maximum of 5 minutes followed by a 2 minutes discussion with the judges after the completion of the presentation
  • The video files can be in the following formats - .avi, .mp4, .wmv
  • The Decision of the scientific committee shall be final
