IHRC 2019

The main focus was on Academics, Health care, and Research. Thirty-two scientific events including fifteen workshops, twelve Conferences, two Stakeholder meetings, and three start-ups figured during the three days academic extravaganza. The event was inaugurated on the 20th of July 2019 and was attended by various luminaries in the field of healthcare. Prof P Karthikeyan, Organizing Secretary General welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Asha, GM(Admin)gave an overview of IHRC 2019. Shri. M K Rajagopalan, Hon’ble Chancellor released the Souvenir and Prof.S C Parija, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor delivered the keynote address. The guest of honor was Dr.S R Rao, Dr.Siva Subramanian, and Dr.Srikanth Tripathy and they emphasized various aspects of research and its impact on healthcare. The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. R Kannan and this was followed by a colorful cultural program.

A total of 1611 delegates were drawn from across the length and breadth of the country and Eight international delegates benefitted through this convention. 216 National and 36 International Faculty had contributed their vast experience and knowledge through seminars, lectures, webinars and hands-on training. There were skill transfer sessions chaired by eminent faculty from abroad who guided the delegates on various hands-on training sessions. There were Government Of India-funded conferences on adolescent immunization and Ayushman Bharath which made a great impact on the delegates on the importance of Government in Community healthcare. The stakeholder’s meeting laid emphasis on the tropical diseases affecting the continents such as Scrub Typus and Entamoeba Histolytica and their management protocols. The whole event was very much appreciated by all the delegates. IHRC 2019 was funded by MCI, CSIR, SERB, MOH&FW and AYUSH. It was awarded Credit points by the TN Medical Council and SBV Deemed to be University. The event was well covered by the visual and print media and had a huge impact on the participants.

IHRC 2019

The first International Health Research Convention 2019 (IHRC 2019) was held from 19th to 21st July 2019 involving the 4 constituent colleges and centers of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), Deemed-to-be-University, namely Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry, Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Puducherry, Kasturba Nursing College, Puducherry, and Sri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute, Kanchipuram and CIDRF (Central Interdisciplinary Research Facility), CYTER (Centre for Yoga Therapy Education and Research) and CMTER (Center for Music Therapy Education and Research). An international conference such as this involving all the aspects of healthcare and research of this magnitude has never happened in South India to date.
